    ISO 14001: what you need to know

    ISO 14000 standards were developed on a similar principle as 9001 ISO standards: they also offer a voluntary approach to management and might serve as benchmarks for directors and signal a responsible attitude to prospective clients and business partners.

     

    ISO 14001-2016 is the latest version of ISO 14000 - Environmental resource management (ERM). With this document a company shows to stakeholders that it takes into account production impact on the environment and therefore promotes an eco-conscious approach.

     

    ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent non-governmental international body involved in standard-setting. Since 1946 ISO has been working out technical standards for various areas of business and industry. According to the article 2.1 of ISO Charter, this organization aims to develop internationally applicable standards that would facilitate product turnover and establish closer cooperation ties in the field of intellectual, scientific, technical and economic activities.
