ISO: what is it?
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent non-governmental international body involved in standard-setting. Since 1946 ISO has been working out technical standards for various areas of business and industry. According to the article 2.1 of ISO Charter, this organization aims to develop internationally applicable standards that would facilitate product turnover and establish closer cooperation ties in the field of intellectual, scientific, technical and economic activities.
