012/2011 CU TR | Open Cert

1. This Technical Regulation (TR) lays down requirements to equipment used in explosive hazardous areas to ensure its safety.
2. This TR is aimed at protecting human life and well-being, property and preventing actions that can mislead consumers as to equipment safety and functions.
3. This TR covers electrical equipment, including ex-components and nonelectrical equipment for use in explosive areas.
Distinctive feature of equipment in question is that its technical documents include measures to be taken for explosion protections and the equipment itself and ex-component have explosive-proof marking.
4. This TR doesn’t cover:
– devices for medical purposes;
– equipment that becomes explosion-hazardous only when used with explosive substances and unstable chemical compounds;
- home equipment for use when environment is explosive due to unexpected gas leak;
– individual protective gear;
– vessels, Inland-waterway vessels. морские суда, sea platforms, offshore drilling platforms
– public transport vehicles, vehicles for cargo transportation (by water, rail, air)
- nuclear weapons, research plants (except for equipment placed in explosive areas)
