Certificate of vehicle design safety (SBKTS) is your pass to Eurasian economic Union (EAEU) markets which is necessary to obtain for almost any vehicle intended for public roads. Typical vehicles are:
-foreign cars, if there are to be implemented with GLONASS system
-foreign cars to be imported to EAEU and certified to CU TR 018/2011
-vehicles previously used in EAEU states and subject to deregistration
-vehicles with modifications
It’s worth mentioning that this Certificate is mandatory both for cars and buses, heavy vehicles of all categories up to 12 tones weight, wagons, motorcycles and quad cycles (meant for public roads). Without SBKTS you won’t obtain vehicle license.
According to CU TR 018/2011, the Certificate itself is a guarantee of vehicle safety and its compliance with EAC certification rules, even if a vehicle is of single-piece production or if it was modified.
Certainly, there are exceptions to the rules. For instance, under CU TR 018/2011, one doesn’t need SBKTS for cars, motorcycles which enter EAEU temporarily (for less than half a year) as well as for professional sport cars and old vehicles (30-year-old (or more) cars and 50-year-old heavy vehicles).
When registered, SBKTS certifies that:
-your vehicle meets requirements of CU TR 018/2011
-it has all rights to enter EAEU markets to be sold or used
